Agustín's Helicopter

Everything is Incredible from Tyler Bastian on Vimeo.

We tend to forget how enduring the human soul is. How basic and simple is the idea to hold onto a dream and chase after it? This video was one of the rare moments where your emotions get the better of you. It is an overwhelming display of human spirit spilling out from the screen and evoking your own personal dreams and aspirations. I dare you to keep a dry eye at the end of this video.

Agustín is a man who was struck with polio at a very young age in his hometown of Siguatepeque, Honduras. Given his condition and the fact that he would never walk again Agustin set to do something that would prove to anyone how impossible dreams lift the human spirit above tragedy. He would build a helicopter.

As you meet Agustín and listen to his story, it’s impossible to be unmoved as he reminisces about being the joke of his town and having his dream laughed at. It is a story that is filled with such sorrow, but the brief moments where we see his helicopter slowly spinning give us a glimmer of hope and inspiration.

Do yourself a favor and sit down with Agustin, and let him remind you that dreams are what make life worth living. They are what make  you get up in the morning, and hope for a better and brighter tomorrow.

Everything is Incredible is a short documentary made possible by the efforts of Tyler Bastian, Trevor Hill and Tim Skousen.
